GET A ROOM!

Did you know that your organization or group can rent Central Library (well, probably not the whole enormous building--more likely a small but impressive section of it)?

CREATIVE EXPERIENCE AT CENTRAL LIBRARY

Creative Experience is a digital maker space. It is a platform for collaborative digital media creation and publishing. The space inspires ingenuity, encourages artistry, and cultivates expertise. Upon entering the Creative Experience, the user is presented with four Pods. Each Pod contains software and hardware that allows users to create, edit, and digitally publish audio, video, photo, print, and interactive content for the web.

Creative Experience also features a Recording Room. The room has a Mac with Pro Tools, Garage Band, Audacity, and Apple Logic Pro, as well as a mixer, speakers, three microphones, an eighty-eight key keyboard, and headphones. We encourage users to bring in their own instruments and we have numerous cables to connect them. In addition to recording music, users can record oral projects, such as podcasts, oral histories, or spoken word poetry.

CENTRAL LIBRARY PARKING

Downtown is busy with shopping, sporting events, restaurants, concerts, and Central Library! We want to make it as easy as possible for you to get to us. There is a large lot at Olive Street and 15th Street available for free parking for those using Central Library. A parking token is needed to raise the gates when exiting. Tokens are available at the Olive Street and Locust Street Issue Desks within Central Library. Check at either desk when you arrive.

If you are parking at a meter, the meters are monitored from 8am until 7pm Monday through Saturday. The meters accept nickels, dimes and quarters. Quarters are your best choice as they are good for 20 minutes. The meters are good for a maximum of 2 hours at a time.

There are also numerous parking lots in the downtown area with various rates.

If you have any questions, please call 314-241-2288 or Ask A Librarian.

PARKING AT CENTRAL LIBRARY

Beginning on 1 July 2013, the City of St. Louis will start to enforce parking violations in the downtown area on Saturdays. The meters will be checked between the hours of 8 AM and 7 PM.

Library users will still normally have the option of parking on the lot we own located at 15th and Olive Streets (directly behind the Campbell House Museum). You can drive directly onto the lot, but will need to pick up a token at the circulation desk in the Great Hall (2nd Floor) in order to exit the lot.

Meters will still not be checked on Sundays (the first floor only of Central Library is open on Sundays from 1 PM-5 PM).
